Bloom

I've been learning a lot about color from the palettes at The Color Room. Some seem so unlikely to my eyes, but the combinations can be stunning! Take this week's palette - lavender, dusty coral, chocolate and ivory - now I would never put lavender and coral together - but it works.

I loved Lydell's sketch - I immediately imagined a patchwork heart. So simple to do with a square punch and faux pen stitching.

I've been working on lots of stuff this week.....more to come soon. I've been loving the CHA photos I've been seeing - Sassafras, Parisian Anthology by Pink Paislee, the Jeni Bowlin butterflies, canvas embellishments, more banners everywhere, but seriously I think Crate and Webster's have has the best releases this season....I am slightly biased, of course. lol What do you think?

My Star

Another new one with Hollywood Vogue from Webster's Pages - this one of my little star. I was a little hesitant at first about the lavender but with the black and teal it is fabulous! I don't use a lot of pastel colors but this may change my mind. :)

I adore these Sparkler buttons - this is a new color - pink!

I created a handmade rose from the new netting and paired it with velvet leaves and berries and teal bloomers.

Don't forget about the chat tomorrow night at inspireMe - I'll be giving away one of the new collections from Webster's! Wed 9PM EST - see you there!

Vintage Girl

Creating projects for CHA is both fun and intimidating. Knowing you are one of the first people to work with a new line gives me a touch of butterflies in my stomach. And when you design for CHA, you are really trying to show the product, not just your style and photos. But I'm fortunate, Webster's never disappoints me and I had lots of ideas for using the new Hollywood Vogue line.

This one has some of the new charcoal Bloomers - this is a color I will reach for again and again!! And the Sparklers - the colors are fabulous!

And this photo - we had a fun photo shoot a few weeks ago. Em was a willing participant....that is not always the case....lol. This photo captured a time gone by for me - hence the title. I edited the photo using a texture and action so it has a lot of depth.

If you are heading to CHA - stop by the Webster's Booth and let me know what you think! I won't be there, but you can email me. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention....I'll be hosting a chat at inspireMe for those of us that aren't at CHA - it will be on Wednesday, July 28 at 9 EST. Stop by if you can!

My first reveal of a CHA project for Webster's - this is using the Waiting for Santa collection.

Glitter is every little girl's favorite and Em has these shoes in several colors! lol

Love the vintage Santa in the balloon - that touch of whimsy makes it so Webster's.

And what I think will be one of Webster's main features this season....the mesh flowers.....I've cut this bouquet apart to just use the cream flower and leaves.

If you would like to take a peek at the entire catalog, you can download the PDF by clicking this link. Webster's Catalog - it's so luscious....watch for drooling!

We are headed out to do some school shopping today....kindergarten is just around the corner now. Have a wonderful weekend!

Summery Shimmerz!!

Introducing the Shimmerz Summer Collection:

Aren't they beautiful? Our two new Shimmerz Vibez colors are Fiery Fiesta (shown left) and Pop Art Pink (shown right). Fiery Fiesta is a beautiful light colored orange (I would liken it to orange sherbert but daker) with a light gold shimmer and Pop Art Pink is this great cotton candy pink with a HUGE gold shimmer to it. We have never had a color like Pop Art Pink before!

Our 3 beautiful new Pearlz colors are (from top to bottom) Blue By You, Peas-B-Mine and Luscious Lilac. You will be impressed with their density and coverage. They are more thick, luscious and creamy then ever before. Plus these colors play sooo well together!

These fabulous colors will be available for purchase on our website on Tuesday, July 27th. Be on the look out for a special online CHA promotion next week as well. Plus, if you are attending CHA stop on by the Shimmerz booth. We are partnering up with Glitz Designs in booth #839!

Sunshine Canvas

A little mixed media playing from last week. A paper collaged, stamped and waxed canvas with a painted fabric piece with a photo. It was so much fun and it looks wonderful in my studio.

Last week was crazy finishing up some stuff for CHA - and I'm off to mail it out this morning. Who's going to be there? I wish I was. Have fun!!

I can't contain my excitement this morning....I woke up to the newsletter from Stampington and Company in my inbox: Postscript.....and to my delight my mini video tutorial!!!!

Being invited to do a video technique tutorial for Stampington is a dream come true for me....I'm speechless and as Emma would say, I've got butterflies.
