Printing Photos onto Patterned Paper - Video Tutorial

I recently created this video for Crate Paper showing some ideas for printing your photos onto patterned paper. Here's one of the projects using this technique.

Printing Photos onto Patterned Paper from lucy edson on Vimeo.

This technique worked really well with this photo that wasn't as in focus as I would normally like. (I think there was some salt spray on my lens....lol.) If you don't have any gesso on hand, white acrylic paint would work, as well.

I adore these negative strips that were the sweetest gift from Ayako Katayama, who makes them....aren't they fabulous?!? These are self adhesive and oh so colorful! Thank you, Aya!!

And a fun mix of embellishments here: Crate Paper, Making Memories, washi tape, another cool embellishement from Aya (the bottle cap) and paint smeared letters.

Also I printed some of my digital brushes onto transparency - these are by Rhonna Farrer.

A close-up of the photo texture from the paper and paint:

I'm working on cleaning off my desk this morning and watching this video, so I can pull out my paints. Hope you had a great weekend!
