12 Days of Christmas Crop

The Webster's Pages 12 Days of Christmas Crop is 12 days of projects meant to inspire you! Each day a new project will be featured. And although we are calling this our 12 Days of Christmas Crop, there will be a wide range of projects from a Christmas gift to a Chanukah project to holiday decor to scrapbook pages and cards!

We will also be having chats, games, prizes and an opportunity for one participant to join our design team for 6 months!

Supply lists and sneak peaks will be available before the crop begins.

When is it?

It starts November 12th (so you have plenty of time to create and use your crop projects) and will last for 12 days.

Where is it?

Right here at inspireME. We have started this new category for the crop, and each day of the crop will have a post dedicated to the day's project.

Here is a little peek of my project for you - A Christmas Shadowbox. I am hosting the first day of the crop so I hope you'll come by and join me!

*********************************************************************

And a very special project I finished over the weekend - special in that I did it just for me....of course, I think the ladies at Webster's will like it, too.....hehehehe.

This is a photograph that my friend, Gayle caught of Em - so dreamy and pensive. I edited it and printed it onto a paper from the Winter Wings collection from Webster's. Cool effect? I like it. ;)

Tricia at did a tutorial at The Next Step a while ago, using her Cricket to cut out flowers and I played with it a bit - I only have a Slice but can get the same effect - Gorgeous!

Loving my paint and glitter, lately....

And an overall view of the depth and textures:

So, how is your week going? Lots of Halloween excitement building around our house - someone is counting down the days.
Thanks for stopping by!

Pencil Lines and The Next Step

We are so excited to be guesting with the talented ladies at Pencil Lines this week! This is our first collaboration at The Next Step, so this is a momentous occasion for us. Here is the sketch we worked with and combined our Tricks with Treats theme.

So with the Tricks with Treats - here I have used cupcake papers and more chocolate foil wrappers - this time to cover a chipboard heart - makes a shiny accent.

I used some Webster's Pages (Nature's Storybook) for my background and added in some Fancy Pants, paint and stitching. The title letters are foam thickers that I painted with some Shimmerz - Vintage Wine.

Had a super creative weekend and I am so thrilled with some new projects I am working on - more to show soon. :)

Happy Monday and have a great week!

Earth Love - Cosmo Cricket

And I do mean LOVE!!! I totally fell in love with this line and so enjoyed creating with it - a huge thanks to A Million Memories and Cosmo Cricket for sponsoring the DT this month and my creations! :)

First up is the layout I used for my tutorial at AMM for the Anniversary Crop last weekend - if you would like to see it - here is the link - Lace Mat Tutorial. I came up with a creative way (I think) of stitching your lace strips so you can move them around to get the perfect placement.

A fun little card - using some Shimmerz, too - I am going to work on a little tutorial to share on how to make the fabric/leather look.

I've been enjoying playing with my photos in PSE a lotb- this frame is by Carina Gardner from 2Peas. The woodgrain background is some textured wallpaper that I had in my stash - looks kind of cool, huh?

And time to get messy - gesso, Shimmerz and crumpling - fun!

Ok, now you can't tell me that you don't love this line now, too!!

Thanks for hanging through all of the pictures - I just wanted to post it all together for the full effect.

Lucy

btw - I am having problems with my photos looking blurry - in PSE they look fine and when I upload them to Flickr they are sharp but upload to Blogger and they look pixelated. Any ideas?

Hope

It's October! That means it's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We wanted to show our support by showing our Pink!! For the whole month of October, we will be sharing Pink projects created by our Shimmerz Girlz! BUT, we want you to get involved also. We want you to create projects using ANY Pink Shimmerz that you have! Any shade of pink. Then, upload it to the Shimmerz Flickr Group! Make sure and tell us what Shimmerz product you have used! Each Design Team Member will choose their favorite project, and each winner will receive something Pink! We are excited to see what you come up! Stop by all month to see what the Design Team creates using Pink! Let's not just create, but inspire and spread the word. Post it on your blog, and let others know! Let your light Shimmer!

Here is my project for the Shimmerz challenge this month: Hope

I crackled a Maya Road chipboard house with a couple of shades of pink acrylic paint and then Shimmerz Spritz in Ruby. Then stamped a woman (Art by Moonlight) with Stazon onto muslin.

The word 'hope' was felt thickers that I painted with Hottie Pink Blingz, and when dry, darkened the edges with my ink pad for some contrast.
I cut small hearts from upholstery fabric and layered with tulle and organza with a button.

I created the roof peak by cutting apart a flower and painting with Pixie Dust Blingz.

I'll be eager to see your Pink creations!
Boy, this weekend was crazy - loads of fun at the AMM Anniversary Crop! You have till next Monday to enter some of the challenges, the prizes are fabulous!!

See you soon,
Lucy

AMM Anniversary Crop Blog Hop & Scavenger Hunt

As part of AMM’s anniversary crop we’re having a blog hop and a scavenger hunt. Here is how this will work: each one of the AMM Design Team members will have a special post for the blog hop where you will have the chance to get to know them a little bit better. At the end of the post, there will be a question that will lead you on a hunt through the AMM site and/or AMM blog (the link to the AMM blog can be found on the left sidebar of the main store site). Be sure to check the anniversary crop forum for complete information on the Blog Hop Challenge.

Here’s a little interview for you to get to know me better:

What is your favorite item in the AMM store at the moment? my favorite new fall line - perfect colors for fall!! Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg

Are you a messy scrapper or clean and tidy? messy, very messy

What are your 3 must have scrapbooking products/tools? Fabri-tac glue, cutterbee scissors, border punches

What was the last scrapbook item you purchased? Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg

What non-scrapbooking items do you love to use on your pages? fabric and paint

What scrapbooking item do you have way too much of? everything but that one thing I need....lol

Using 3 words - how would you describe yourself? creative, crazy, compassionate

What scrapbooking embellishment or technique do you use on almost all of your pages? Stitching or misting

How long does does it normally take you to complete a layout? anywhere from 1-3 hours, hopefully not much longer than that.

What is your favorite new trend? grids and mixed media techniques

Is your spouse, significant other or family supportive of your scrapbook hobby? my husband is wonderfully accepting of my hobby :)

Now onto the scavenger hunt! Here is your question:

AMM receives new items for the store every week. How many manufacturers had new items in the store in September (not including AMM’s unique offerings)?

Now head on over to Mia’s blog for your next scavenger hunt question!

Have fun!

Expectations - Forward Progress

I was so flattered to ask to guest on Forward Progress and my project came out this week. Ellen and the team have wonderful, thought provoking prompts and I loved this one - Prompt 12 Expectations - they have a fun sponsor this month, so hope you check them out!

I used lots of yummy Webster's on this one from the Home for the Holidays line and a little bit of Postcards from Paris.

I layered the vellum in this corner over one of the cream tone-on-tone papers - I just love the richness of the colors! And I can't get over the way that Shimmerz shows up on black! This is Euclyptus Spritz over a Heidi Swapp mask.

A few touches of Hambly to frame out my words and more of the vellum.

And a little sneak of a piece I have in Somerset Gallery Winter - I am so excited about this!! It was one of my Grandma's favorite pieces of mine using a photo of her mother. :)
Have a great rest of the week!

October AMM layouts

Thought I would share the rest of my layouts with the October kit from AMM. This was a fun kit to play with!

A while back Emma asked me if we could just change her number and our conversation totally inspired this layout:

I misted over a KI numbers die cut paper with Shimmerz Spritz in Treasured Hymn and Eucalyptus and hand stitched the numbers I wanted to accent.

And a photo of me and my mom - I was about 2 1/2 here. :) Got kind of grungy and messy - yay!

These pictures were from Emma's birthday - the first time riding her bike - I tried to create a little scene here.

I've been finishing up my work for the Anniversary Crop over at AMM, coming this weekend - lots of fun in store - hope you can stop by!

Crop Sneaks

I am so excited about what we have planned for the crop at A Million Memories next weekend!!

Here's a little peek:

What I have prepared: teaching a tutorial on creating a lace photo mat.....sound interesting?

Also, a one hour mystery layout - I'll give a list of supplies and every 10 minutes post the next step and you'll have a suprise layout at the end! Hope you come and play along! This is to go along with my new theme of letting go and just create. We had an interesting thread going at AMM over the weekend about the time it takes to create and how much are you holding yourself back by overthinking? I am the queen of that....lol. More to come me working on this process.

Feeling a lot more energetic today and ready to get busy! Happy Monday!

Grateful 4 U

The October kit from A Million Memories has a wonderful homespun look - made me think of a quilt. So I created the look of a Nine Patch on this layout with a stitched grid and colorful blocks of paper each individually embellished.

I loved the Word at OLW this week - Gratitude, so worked it into my layout with my title - Grateful 4 U - my two sweeties.

I painted the edges of the flower with Shimmerz Blingz in Gold Glitter - it made a gorgeous raised edge.

We had a mini book from Maya Rd included with the kit - I crackled this page with antique white acrylic paint, then a layer of Plaid Crackle medium, then blue acrylic - drying between layers. I love how the rub-on contrasted against the blue.

For the stitched grid I lightly marked a grid 3" apart with a pencil and stitched with a double stitch on my sewing machine. I accented under the title with Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath - doesn't it look like water drops?

I've been playing with my photos a lot lately - the frame on this one is from a vintage photo kit by Rhonna Farrer. And I've found something I really want, to help me play in PSE - a Bamboo Craft Pad. Do you have one of these? Maybe if I am really sweet, Santa will bring me one?!? (I am hoping my husband is reading this)

And last, but not least:

AMM is having a crop party next weekend!! October 16-18 - we are going to have games, tutorials and PRIZES!! Hope you can plan to head over and see what's going on!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

I'm sick of being sick - this is going on 3 weeks now, catching something back to back - hopefully this is the end of that - but I have been productive, in spite of myself. ;) Lots of new stuff coming - hope you are having a great weekend!

Tricks with Treats

October seemed to be the perfect month for our theme at The Next Step - Tricks with Treats. We had an incredible feature written by the talented Stacey Michaud in Scrapstreet Magazine - check it out! Here is my project - you can see a tutorial of my trick on Thursday on The Next Step.

Loving me some Sassafras and Hambly on this one!

These pics are from Emma's birthday party with one of her little friends - awwww...

And hello, more Sassafras - now you know I struggle with card making. lol I think I spend almost as much time on this as I did on the layout - I did a little tutorial on the AMM blog about resist embossing with my new fave Shimmerz Spritz color -Licorice - the irridescence is unbelievable here!

Well, that's all for now - I'm running out the door this morning to help in Emma's pre-K class, 25 4&5 year olds.......wish me luck!
