Scrapmuse July Preview

Here's your preview of the July Scrapmuse kit!! I have had so much fun playing with it!

And here is a sneak peek at one of the LOs I did with the kit!'s a boy one! Not my usual from all of the girly Emma ones. I pulled out some neat older photos to go with this kit - So you will get to see Mark as a little boy and one of me and my brothers and sister from the early 80's. Get ready for a flash back! lol

I can't believe today is the last day of June! It has flown by for me. I have entered several contests this month and hope to have some excitement to share! Hope you have all had a creative and fun month! ; )

Emma's In Somerset Postscript

My friend Audrey asked me for a girl picture to use in a project for Stampington a while back and the tray she made is in their Postscript today!! You can see the full project with supplies here:

I think it is adorable and I love what Audrey did with this photo! We like to joke around about my use of flowers and so when she was sent these flowers to work with, of course a picture of Emma was needed. I don't think Montana would like to seen himself surrounded by all of these flowers. lol

Thanks, Audrey, for such a beautiful project featuring my daughter!

She's 3

Emma asked me if she was really 3 on the morning of her birthday. I assured her yes, she was. Her response - But I'm not as big as you! LOL We had been discussing what a big girl she would be at three. It is so funny to see what their perception of time and growing is.
I did this LO for a contest on AMM for their Creative Imaginations LO Contest. Everything is CI except for the alpha - they are MM and AC. I am really pleased with how this LO turned out - I love the new line from the Narratives collection. The winner gets a guest DT for CI in Aug!! I've got my fingers crossed! I'll keep you posted. ;-)

Golden Moments

I so love these pictures we took out at the flower field with Judie! Judie was trying to get some shots of me and Em, so I actually have some of us together! I love the way the light was on Emma's face in this picture.

This LO was made for the June sketch challenge on inspireMe. I won these Webster's Pages on their site earlier this month in a drawing and decided to use them for the challenge. It is called the Sweet Charity collection and the rub-ons came with it, too. I added AC & MM letters for the titling.

I've been going crazy with the distressing and sewing lately! lol Do you like it? I know some people like there pages to be flat to go into books but I love texture and lots of layers! What do you prefer?

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and your comments! ;-)

Color Story 5

I just finished this LO for the challenge over at Color Story Challenge. It was for a shabby chic LO with the paper strip look that is so popular right now. I always have a hard time with the paper strips for some reason. I love this picture, though! I photoshopped it and added a texture layer by Rhonna Farrah. The paper strips are a mix of Jenni Bowlin, MM, K&Co, KI, Sassafrass Lass & Melissa Frances all on Hambly. I shabbied it up with some dry brushed gesso. It was hard to photograph it without a shine or shadow. But you can get the general idea!

More June Scrapmuse

My other LOs I did for Scrapmuse this month:

Emma and her friends at an Easter egg hunt that turned into 'picking pixies'! I added the Prima stamps to this LO and distressed edges and stitching!

Emma and her cousin at Orange Beach. I am so loving the distressing right now!

Em only sucks her thumb when she is tired or hungry - I love this sweet shot! Lace edge made with Martha Stewart Lace Punch.

This kit was so easy for me to work with, probably because of the girly colors! I have finally gotten started working this week - I was having a creative slump but I did a LO last night and am feeling like working today, too!

June Scrapmuse Projects

Just wanted to start sharing some of the projects I did for Scrapmuse this month.

I love the great action shots I can get with my Nikon! I pulled out my sewing machine for most of my LOs this month.

Emma was so easy to teach to say please and thank you. But it is much harder to learn that please doesn't always mean yes! lol But it is so hard to say no to this sweet face!

Today was Emma's 3rd Birthday and we went to Build-A-Bear and brought home Sally Edson. For those of you that know Emma - every girl that we don't know the name of is Sally! LOL So, it was no surprise to me to bring home Sally Bear! Emma says if we have another baby we will call her Sally, too! Mark said he didn't think so. She picked the girliest bear you can imagine - pink with white hearts and a fairy costume and jeweled flip-flops! I guess she is like her Mama!

Happy Birthday! Emma!!

ATC for G's Swap

This is my first ATC swap, I made 13 all similar to each other. The background was painted with acrylic paint and layered with stamped tissue paper, then dry brushed with gesso. I edged each one with bronze UTEE and sewed a fabric strip, punched leaf, flower, sheer fabric and stamped art tag. Then sprinkled with just a little more UTEE to blend it together.

There is an open area left for each person to put a tiny photo. The idea was an ATC LO. It was a fun project and different for me to work in a small format. Now I need to go address some envelopes and get them in the mail!

Hope you are all having a great week!

Fancy Pants Card

Miss Fancy Pants had a card challenge last week that I entered. Here was my entry:
I hand cut the flowers and alcohol inked the clear title. All products are by Fancy Pants, of course.

I just finished my article for this ScrapMuse Newsletter - It is on clustering embellishments - hmmm....think I have that one covered?!? lol
I really love my LOs I did this with the June kit. Can't wait to share them later this week! I went crazy with the sewing machine on these!
Also have been working on my entry for MMM. I am so nervous about even submitting and I'm not sure why. I guess I feel a lot of what you see in the print mags aren't like my style. So I guess we'll just have to see. I am sure they will have 1,000's of applicants.

PHutch June Sketches

This was the one page sketch - Emma was posing for me like a "model"- I love the one where she poked her butt out with her hand on her hip. I used Prima and Fancy Pants paper - AC- alphas and the doll is Melissa Frances.

The card is all Prima except for the buttons and the same AC alphas.

For the 2 page LO I wanted to use these pictures that I took for my friend, Judie and decided to make them into 2 canvas' that she could hang on her walls. They are 9x14 canvas' that I painted black and then layered on the photos and flowers. The letters are BG chipboard with pearl UTEE. I really love these pictures and I know she will love them!

You can see the other designers work with these aewsome sketches here.

Scrapmuse June Preview

This is the June kit for Scrapmuse!! What lovely colors! I have been busy creating with this fabulous kit. Just finished my 5th LO with it and am using up the scraps to make a few quick cards. I can't wait to show you what I made with this kit!! It was really fun and easy to use!
